OUTFIT: Vintage varsity jacket, WEEKDAY shirt & Zara shoes

Growing up, I've always considered myself a tomboy, but recently I've been falling more and more in love with androgynous fashion. As a young girl, and still to this day, I was always told by relatives and former friends that I couldn't wear this and I shouldn't wear that. I never really understood why, but now I realize that it all comes down to FOTQ - fear of the queer. I totally just made that abbreviation up, but what I mean is just that being queer and whatnot is something people have been scared of for so long. Entering 2017 I, as well as the rest of the world, have become more aware of gender roles and feminism. The traditional idea of what girls and boys are supposed to be like is slowly dissolving into thin air. I love to dress this way and that doesn't necessarily make me boyish. That just makes me me-ish. What I wear is not men's clothing, they're my clothes. I bought them and I'm wearing them.

Anyways, on to the outfit itself. I got myself a vintage varsity jacket in Brooklyn last week and here it is in action. I wore the jacket on a shopping spree in the fashionable SoHo and I got my picture taken by some cool street style photographer dude. I really wish I knew who he was and where my photo is gonna end up.

  5. I love your style! And I totally agree that it's boring (and silly) to think some kinds of clothes can only be worn by certain genders. You rock the varsity jacket xx

  6. I adore the adrogynous style, it reminds me of the 90s, when denim dungarees, oversized jumpers and sneakers were the popular style. We honestly shouldn't worry about labels and embrace our individuality, great post dear.

  8. I don't get why androgynous styles aren't that popular over here... it's so big in Japan and they pull it off so well! I think this style really suits you and you should just wear whatever you want regardless of what others things.
