Summer Essential: COS Bikini

There's beauty in simplicity and I think this lovely bikini I got from COS really amplifies that statement. It's in such a pretty pastel blue colour. However, because it's so light in colour, the suncream stains are very visible so I need to get another one in black. You can get the bikini right here (#notspons). I wore it to the beach today paired with a classic pair of light-denim high waisted shorts from American Apparel and a black sheer shirt from WEEKDAY.

H&M top | Vintage culottes | Asos glitter socks | Zara shoes

Today, I'm wearing a red frill top. When I bought this top, I wasn't too sure if I liked this style on me. It's very Megan Ellaby and don't get me wrong, she looks gorgeous in frills. I just think that frills are a bit too feminine for my taste. My Scandinavian heart always tell me to go for clean cuts, sharp lines and minimal designs. That being said, I just absolutely love this wine red colour and this exact top isn't too crazy and full of frills. I think it looks especially gorgeous when paired with my navy blue culottes as they both have the same cool tone to them. I was debating whether or not I should publish this blog post because 1. the photos are super blurry (thanks, mum) and 2. I look the size of a house in these photos which I swear I'm not. And 3. I'm just generally being very negative in this blog post (even now). Sorry about it!

My Mother as a Style Icon

On sunday, it is mother's day and in light of that, I wanted to write a blog post dedicated to my sweet, loving and caring momma. In fact, this is a tribute to all of her right fashion choices from back in the day because my '80s–to–early–'90s fashion obsession probably originates from her. (That's something you didn't know, huh mum?) Above is a photo of her wearing a long black coat in Italy. Next to that, I found her old Italian travel permit. Let's not talk about her interesting choice of hairdo and just focus on the garments. I think she looks so cool in this pirate inspired banjee girl look. I totally need to wear more striped t-shirts and much larger hoop earrings.
Here's a photo of my mum in Madam Tussaud's in London. I think she was either 22 or 23 in this photo. I just love how similar her outfit in this photo is to some of the outfits I wear now. As you may or may not know, I love a bolt coloured accessory as a contrast a monochromatic outfit. I would just like to point out that her messy fringe hairdo on this photo is giving me LIFE. Not too long ago, I cut my own fringe hoping to replicate this hairstyle.
I also had to include this photo of her leaning against a slightly rusty fence because I know that it's her favourite photo of herself. It's a gorgeous summer photo taken in Sicily in 1980-something. Quite frankly, I think she could have passed as a cast member of Beverly Hills 90210. Don't you think?
Finally, I found this photo of her in an all black outfit with the ultimate accessory: a tan angelic baby (By the way, that's me if you couldn't tell). This outfit is so Bruce Willis in 'The Jackal' anno 1997. I think it's pretty obvious that my sense of style comes from my own mum. Do you get inspired by your mum's (and/or dad's) sense of style? Let me know in the comment section!

Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful and stylish mammas out there ♥

Sleepwear as Daytime Wear

ASOS robe & Intimissimi top

I'm not in the mood for anything today. It's so cold, dreary and cloudy outside and on top of that, I hate tuesdays. Basically, it's just one of "those" days. A while back, I fell madly in love with the Balenciaga satin robe and I haven't been able to fuhgeddaboudit until I came across this lovely golden champagne coloured robe on ASOS. I instantly knew that I had to purchase it so that's exactly what I did. It comes in so handy on depressing days such as today. I've been at home all day wearing this robe and I don't feel guilty about staying in and not getting dressed at all (Can't say that without thinking of Coco Montrese's "oh at all"). I hope you're having a better tuesday than I am.
